Interaction with Capt. Raghuwanshi
Core Business school students had the golden opportunity to interact with Capt. Raghuwanshi an alumnus of IIM-A , who has had a work experience in the navy and is currently serving the nation through his contribution at C-DAC. Having conducted around 35,000 interviews, he briefed the students about some essentials to be followed during an interview session. On the topic of decision on serving the nation, he stated that our nation was once in a situation that we were asking for supercomputer technology from “The Superpower ” The US, and we were refused. India is now in a position where it can look towards a better and brighter future, all thanks to the efforts of the talented and sincere people working in this direction.
When Mr. Barack Obama had come down to India for a visit (the recent visit), he had some delegates of the IT department who were here to ask C-DAC for the supercomputer named “Param” and its technology. The US now wants C-DAC to give them this technology which India had once asked them for.
Capt. Raghuwanshi’s simplicity can be felt by the way he interacted with the students without being verbose in his lecture. A thought that he shared with the students was to focus only on their goals, invest less on the Non Productive Time (N.P.T) and to invest more in MPT (Most productive Timing). His humility and persona aptly described how one should become more and more humble with each success achieved.
Udaan
Mr. Ravi Gaekwad from TIIPS ( The Indian Institute of Professional Studies) graced Core Business School with his presence and during his interaction with the students, discussed the problems of increasing unemployment among the literate people especially among the youngsters. He threw light over the requirements of the industry in relation to the students. He also shared many tactics which might be helpful while facing interviews. Mr. Ravi made us aware of those important facts on which we all should work on. Project UDAAN of TIIPS aims at improving the employability in fresh management graduates. During this interaction it was really an eye opener to gear up our efforts towards achiving our dream placements in desired industry/companies. He left us saying these words “for achieving success we have to aim UDAAN” really this is the key ofsuccess.
Adventure Trip
It was the day much awaited for and too many things were being planned to make this day the most memorable day spent in fun and activities. Finally at dawn all the students at Core were ready for the adventure trip and were looking forward to the trekking, rock climbing, river crossing and overall the fun of the journey till the destination. Despite being very tired after the Garba Night where the fun went on till 1:30 AM, there was no loss of enthusiasm amongst the students. The bus was ready and so was the packed food along with the students in their best Picinc and trekking outfits.
The fun started the very moment the bus left the campus and there were many sessions of songs, dance and cheering all the way. It was a long 2-3 Km trek before we reached the river. The small rivulet acted like a magnet attracting everyone to get relief from the hot sun and the long trek. There were experts who guided the students while doing the river crossing. This activity was full of thrill and the cheering by the classmates added to the fun. The packed lunch of the mess contractor never tasted so yum and each morsel was enjoyed to the core. There were rounds of songs and dance and some even ventured to explore the wilderness of the surrounding in groups. Towards the end of the day was the time to step back to the comfort of the seats of the bus and start the return journey. Some called it a day by taking a nap till the return to hostels while others were still full of energy to keep on singing and dancing till the very end.
Really a memorable trip for all to treasure as a part of life at Core.
