The last one year has been very eventful, both, at micro and at macro levels. With the arrival of first cohort of students, the process of achieving the vision of creating a world class business school was humbly begun. At heart of this was our sole motto of cultivating dynamic and ethical leadership for the new business age.

The world economy has started looking upward. Top-line are good and bottom-line are better. The recent meltdown and recovery has had few very important lessons to learn. Underlying these lessons was one single philosophy i.e. the ethical leadership which will help companies float in difficult times. CBS related very well to this need and all our efforts are to be focused ab-initio.

The 360 degree approach to education followed at CBS involves a rigorous academic pursuit involving live case-studies and industry oriented workshops, personality development clubbed with social events and cultural activities. Students are exposed to networking skills with the world outside in general and the corporate world in particular. Sports and yoga are essentials of the holistic lifestyle for which students are being prepared. In essence, CBS is focusing on developing well-rounded and confident personalities ready to accept and meet challenges ahead.

The most recent and significant development at CBS is its collaboration with Provogue India Ltd. (PIL) through which PIL has now become an integral part of Core Business School fraternity. The collaborative endeavour has strengthened and smoothened the vision path of CBS i.e. making CBS a world class institution. This marriage between CBS and PIL has tremendous advantages to all stakeholders, particularly the students. Some of the benefits of the collaboration are:

• Live short term projects (providing students a chance to have a bite of reality)
• Industry participation in developing the academic curricula suitable for the dynamic business world
• Seamless flow of experts and professionals from the corporate world to the pedagogic process of CBS (visiting and associate faculty members)
• Understanding best practices of industry and incorporating these in institutional setup.
• Needless to say that summer and final placement will be relatively easy.
• Enhancing and expanding campus infrastructure and facilities.

I am sure that with the initiatives being taken by us, CBS is on the way to becoming a world class B-School.
